About The Position

This position is part of the LCAC 100 Program. The Coatings Technician will perform all preparation, inspection, support and repair for all fiberglass/carbon materials in support of the U.S. Navy’s Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program on-base.

Requirements

High School Degree Required
Knowledge in composite fabrication/repair, coatings, marine repair, aviation structures or equivalent
Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain an interim clearance required
AC&R training required
EPA Section 608, as applicable
Five to seven (5-7) years of experience in similar position
Experience and knowledge in PPE/respiratory proection
HAZMAT awareness training and knowledge
Composite repair training required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goals
Ability to install, assemble, and configure new mechanical or refrigeration systems
Ability to troubleshoot using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and fix issues
Ability to work independently and coordinate with general maintenance staff
Ability to work with various levels of personnel
Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

Conduct composite repair, fiberglass/carbon fiber repair, surface preparation, coatings, paint, ceramic applications, curling, inspection support and documentation
Provide Supports fiberglass, carbon fiber, coatings, paint, ceramic application, and components repair activities
Perform routine work with limited to no supervision or instruction
Ability to take on new assignments with general instructions
Apply industry knowledge to various programs and projects ensuring successful completion
Use knowledge of industry standard policies, procedures and practical applications to complete job tasks
Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
