About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Coatings Processor C for the 3rd Shift. This role is responsible for performing pre and post coating operations on production, overhaul, or developmental parts, and assisting with the operation and maintenance of coating equipment. The position involves working from various instructions to set up and operate manual and numerically controlled auxiliary equipment in support of coating operations. Assignments may include working with ovens, furnaces, cleaning equipment, and shot-peen equipment, where processes are closely controlled. The role also includes assisting with new part process tryouts, running test pieces, re-operating rejected parts, and checking work visually and with gauges. Additionally, the processor will perform masking and de-masking, assemble and remove parts from fixtures, clean coating chambers, and perform minor repairs to fixtures. Routine servicing of equipment is also a key responsibility, following specified procedures to ensure proper operation. Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing /industrial/aerospace experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform pre and post coating operations on production, overhaul or developmental parts.
  • Assist others responsible for operating and maintaining coating equipment.
  • Work from verbal, written and electronically generated instructions to set up, adjust and operate a wide variety of manual and numerically controlled auxiliary equipment in support of coating operations.
  • Perform masking and de-masking operations.
  • Assemble and remove parts into holding fixtures.
  • Clean out coating chambers during changeovers.
  • Clean and make minor repairs to fixtures.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions.
  • Refer difficulties to leader or supervisor.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description.
  • May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
