Coatings Complex Supervisor
About The Position
The Coatings Complex Supervisor at Nucor Steel Indiana will be responsible for the operation and management of hot dip galvanizing lines. This role involves working with the Coating Complex and plant-wide leadership to achieve safety goals, develop the team, improve processes, and ensure commercial excellence and customer satisfaction. The supervisor will oversee the application of protective coatings, manage production according to ISO standards, and initiate and uphold safety policies. Experience in start-up and commissioning of continuous galvanize lines, project management, and leadership in flat rolled steel processes such as Pickling, Cold Rolling, Galvanizing, and continuous paint lines is crucial. The role also includes motivating teammates, setting expectations, communicating departmental goals, and developing plans to achieve them.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in operation and management of hot dip galvanizing lines in the steel industry.
- Start-up and commissioning experience for continuous galvanize lines producing GI and AZ55 products for construction market.
- Project management and leadership experience in the following flat rolled steel processes: Pickling, Cold Rolling, Galvanizing, and continuous paint line.
- Overseeing the application of protective coatings to steel structures including AZ55 (Galvalume) coatings, ensuring quality, safety and adherence to project specifications.
- Managing the production of coated products in accordance with ISO-9000/ISO-14000/ISO-18000 standards.
- Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
