About The Position

The Coating Technician, Level I is responsible for the front end and back end of the coating production process as well as some aspects of coating machine maintenance. The Coating Technician, Level I performs their duties under the direction of their supervisor or manager.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand spec sheets, run sheets, routings, and work instructions
Good math skills, including proficiency in basic algebra
Basic computer skills including working proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word
HS diploma
Adequate manual dexterity to perform essential functions; ability to use some physical efforts in the handling of heavy materials and machinery (most tasks require no more than 50 lbs. lifting); position requires about 80% standing; ability to work in manufacturing environment.
Work overtime as required
US Citizenship or permanent residence required

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in technical discipline preferred

Responsibilities

Operation of sandblast cabinet and chemical stripping booth
Organize and maintain consumables and maintenance supplies
Conduct preventative maintenance procedures on coating chamber shielding in preparation for a cleanroom environment.
Setup, load, unload and maintain coating fixtures
Perform visual inspections of pre and post-coated optics for defects
Measure finished parts using a variety of metrology equipment
Will be required to use shop and power tools
Participate in 6S activities which include but are not limited to cleaning, organizing, sweeping, and mopping work area
May be required to use a ladder
Strictly adhere to all safety procedures and protocols
Other duties as assigned
