About The Position

The Coating Machine Operator performs assigned manufacturing work according to process requirements while working safely, productively, efficiently, and with attention to quality. The operator follows work rules and uses critical reasoning to address issues affecting safety, quality, and productivity. The role includes operating and adjusting production equipment, handling materials, conducting in-process quality checks, maintaining records, performing routine equipment maintenance, and completing hazardous-waste handling duties and required training. The position may require any shift and overtime.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent work experience with basic math, written communication, and oral communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work with others as a team member.
Ability to understand and work with metric measures and volumes.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb stairs, walk, and stand for a significant part of the shift.
Ability to work in high-humidity and high-temperature environments.
Ability to work any required shift, including overtime.
Must complete all required annual training to meet safety rules and OSHA regulations.

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience in coating, web handling, or extrusion preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in the plant safety program and complete company-provided safety training.
Follow safety procedures and operate required material-handling devices while handling materials properly.
Operate machinery and monitor materials, equipment, and methods to ensure quality product is manufactured.
Collect data and complete required records.
Perform in-process quality testing and follow production specifications and quality requirements.
Change over and start up equipment, and monitor and adjust operating conditions to maintain quality, production, and safety standards.
Produce product at an acceptable rate and required quality.
Use measuring and weighing tools and devices accurately.
Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating equipment, making adjustments, and fixing minor mechanical problems.
Complete required training and perform Hazardous Waste Handler duties, including transferring hazardous-waste containers to the accumulation area and ensuring containers are properly labeled and sealed.
Complete related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Complete required annual training to meet safety rules and OSHA regulations.
Participate on problem-solving teams as required.
