About The Position

As a Senior Coating Advisor, you will be responsible for providing technical support to sales teams, customers, and stakeholders. This role involves performing physical inspections, condition surveys, and overseeing product application activities. You will also conduct technical analysis of product specifications, deliver technical training and presentations, and prepare technical briefings for customer and company representatives. Additionally, you will prepare inspection reports using digital reporting software and evaluate sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with organizational quality and performance standards. This position is remote with travel to job sites as needed, and the ideal candidate is located in the Gulf Coast region of the U.S. or near Monterrey, Mexico, though other locations will be considered. You will be on the front lines, working with applicators, distributors, contractors, engineers, and consultants to ensure the proper use and application of Hempel’s products. You will strive to understand customer needs and challenges, providing services that support and strengthen coating solutions to create monetizable value. Collaboration with internal teams such as Sales, R&D, and Customer Care is essential for delivering exceptional end-user service. You will bring technical documentation to life by offering advisory support on all Hempel products, acting as a brand ambassador by communicating product features and benefits. Ensuring compliance with Product Data Sheets, guide specifications, technical standards, and best practices is crucial. You will accurately collect and record data, prepare progress reports including testing and analysis, and provide feedback to stakeholders. Onsite training for coatings applicators and Hempel’s Sales teams will be part of your responsibilities, along with educating and persuading customers on the performance of coating solutions and the value of Technical Services. You will generate and distribute accurate company and customer reports using corporate tools, monitor and manage project paint inventory, and ensure responsible use and maintenance of PPE and technical equipment. Active participation in internal and external Technical Services strategy activities, including surveys and troubleshooting, is also expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/Bachelor degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Coating Industry
  • Marine coating experience
  • English business proficiency (oral and written)
  • MS office basic level
  • General computer literacy
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 80%, domestic and international)
  • Willing to work flexible schedules
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
