About The Position

This Coastal Management Field Representative is responsible for duties that are primarily those associated with administration of Permit requirements of the Coastal Area Management Act (CAMA) and the Dredge and Fill law in the area served by the Morehead City (Central) District office. Approximately two-thirds of this work is outside and physical in nature. This position is based in the Wilmington Regional Office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for CAMA Regulatory Permitting and Enforcement work for development projects
  • Conducting on-site reviews of permit applications.
  • Providing information on projects that usually require coordination with other divisions and state agencies for permit approval.
