About The Position

The Prairie School is seeking qualified and enthusiastic coaches and assistant coaches for a variety of sports in our Middle & Upper School athletic programs for Fall, Winter and Spring. The appointee will directly contribute to all areas of coaching. Head Coach appointees will work directly with the Athletic Director. Assistant Coach appointees will work directly with the Head Coach and Athletic Director to ensure a professional and consistent approach to the Prairie’s athletic philosophy, from fifth grade through varsity competition. All coaches play a key role in mentoring and educating each athlete on the team. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly organized, and have a proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Successful applicants will be motivated, enthusiastic, reliable, and enjoy working as part of a team. Requirements

• Experience required for Upper School coaches.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly organized.
• Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable.
• Enjoy working as part of a team.
• Love working with athletes in grades 5-12.
• Willingness to learn new skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience preferred for Middle School coaches.
• Proven track record in coaching or working for another youth athletic program.
• Qualifications in sports management.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to all areas of coaching.
• Work directly with the Athletic Director (Head Coach appointees).
• Work directly with the Head Coach and Athletic Director (Assistant Coach appointees).
• Ensure a professional and consistent approach to the Prairie’s athletic philosophy, from fifth grade through varsity competition.
