This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The role requires adherence to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, modeling non-discriminatory practices, and assuming complete responsibility for the conduct and teachings of the team. The coach will be available for contests and practices from Monday through Saturday and some holidays, and will supervise the use, issuance, return, cleaning, inventory, and storage of equipment and uniforms. The coach is expected to establish positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, and community members, and attend required meetings. Responsibilities include conducting an organization meeting, preparing and submitting schedules, following injury procedures, submitting rosters, reporting scores, notifying administration of cancellations or incidents, supervising team members after practices/games, completing end-of-season reports, and complying with all relevant policies and procedures. The coach will make decisions regarding their team within established policies but will defer broader decisions to the Athletic Director. They will assess player skills, monitor players during competition and practice, model sports-like behavior, and participate in special team events. Additional duties include distributing and maintaining eligibility forms and emergency data cards, attending staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance, and performing other related duties as assigned.
