This position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The role requires adherence to the NFHS Coaches Code of Ethics, modeling non-discriminatory practices, and assuming complete responsibility for the conduct and philosophy of the team. The coach will be available for contests and practices from Monday through Saturday and some holidays, and will supervise the use, issuance, return, cleaning, inventory, and storage of equipment and uniforms. The coach must also establish positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, and community members, attend required meetings, and conduct an organization meeting with athletes to explain try-outs, selection methods, and the code of conduct. Additionally, the coach will prepare and submit schedules, follow procedures for athlete injuries, submit rosters, report scores, notify administration of cancellations or incidents, and supervise team members after practices/games. The coach must comply with all policies and procedures outlined in relevant handbooks and regulations, make decisions within established policies, and assess player skills while modeling sports-like behavior. Participation in special activities like parent's night and banquets is expected, along with performing support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms and emergency data cards. The coach will also attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance, and perform any other related duties as assigned.
