About The Position

This role supports the Head Coach in managing the football program, assuming head coaching duties in their absence. The First Assistant Coach is responsible for a specific area of the program as assigned by the Head Coach, contributing to the overall athletic program's success. Loyalty to the coach and team is essential, and the individual must be willing to align with the Head Coach's vision. Responsibilities include developing and guiding a specific team, attending meetings, covering scouting trips, assisting with equipment management, and adhering to departmental policies.

Responsibilities

Assumes the responsibilities as head Coach in the absence of the Head Coach.
Directs and assumes responsibility for the area of the program assigned by the Head Coach.
Supports the Head Coach in conducting the athletic program of that particular sport and the total athletic program.
Is loyal to the coach and to the team.
Gives up some of his/her own thoughts to conform to the overall pattern as set forth by the Head Coach.
Assists the head Coach in a manner which will be most beneficial to the entire program.
Assumes the responsibility for the development and guidance of a specific team within the total program as assigned by the Head Coach.
Attends all meetings requested by the Athletic administrator or Head Coach.
Covers scouting trips requested by the Head Coach.
Assists the Head Coach in checking in all equipment at the end of the season.
Abides by the Athletic Department policies and operating procedures.
Performs other coaching-related duties as directed by the Head Coach, Athletic Administrator or Principal.
