About The Position

Supports the Head Coach in conducting the athletic program of that particular sport and the total athletic program. An Assistant Coach generally must give up some of his/her own thoughts to conform to the overall pattern as set forth by the Head Coach. Assists the Head Coach in a manner which will be most beneficial to the entire program. Assumes the responsibility for the development and guidance of a specific team within the total program as assigned by the Head Coach.

• Attendance at all meetings requested by the Athletic Administrator or Head Coach.
• Willingness to cover scouting trips as requested by the Head Coach.
• Assistance with checking in all equipment at the end of the season.
• Adherence to Athletic Department policies and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of the Head Coach and First Assistant, if any, assumes all responsibilities herein designated as those of the Head Coach.
• Abides by the Athletic Department policies and operating procedures.
• Performs other coaching-related duties as directed by the Head Coach, Athletic Administrator or Principal.
• Attends all meetings requested by the Athletic Administrator or Head Coach.
• Covers scouting trips requested by the Head Coach.
