Individual tuition in voice (opera) for students enrolled in MU298-MU498 (Introduction to Opera). The course is designed for voice majors who normally have already completed 2 years of university level studio voice instruction, and in some cases, piano majors with an interest in opera coaching and collaborative pianism. While the course is required for performance majors, it is also open to all voice (and piano) majors interested in growing their skill in this highly collaborative art form. Supporting the work of the Opera Director and Conductor by coaching and accompanying students. The successful candidate will have training and specialization in collaborative piano with a focus on voice accompaniment. In addition to coaching and accompanying students in a 1-1 setting, coach accompanists may also be required to participate in: Student recitals, masterclasses, auditions for incoming students, juries, and other special recitals arranged for the year. These additional duties are compensated under article 25.6.5.2 of the Collective Agreement.
