About The Position

CMP Co-VP Events are responsible for planning and executing CMP Home Base's signature events and recurring social programming throughout the year. This role involves a time commitment of 4-6 hours per week and runs from July 2026 to April 2027. The position requires strong organizational and operational skills, creativity, a people-oriented approach, and the ability to build community. The ideal candidate can make decisions independently, adapt under pressure, and possesses excellent communication and time management skills. Experience with event planning or community-building is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute CMP's two anchor transition events: the Welcome Week Kickoff (September) and the Mid-Year Reset (January)
  • Organize recurring drop-in coffee chats and casual monthly mixers throughout the academic year
  • Coordinate logistics including venue booking, guest outreach, and event flow
  • Work closely with Co-VPs Marketing to promote events and drive attendance
  • Gather post-event feedback and iterate on programming based on what first-years respond to
  • Foster a low-pressure, welcoming atmosphere at all CMP touchpoints
