About The Position

The Co-op Program at Kokosing is designed to provide students with practical construction industry experience, the chance to work on value-added projects, connect with a mentor in their field of study, network with senior leaders, team members, and other co-ops. Kokosing is looking for students interested in a co-op experience for the Spring, Summer, or Fall semesters. The program aims to train the next group of leaders and requires skilled team members who reflect the company's core values and culture of safety. As a Co-op, students will work with Full Time construction professionals who provide guidance and share expertise on various tasks. The objective is to prepare students for full-time employment in various roles within the industry. Co-ops will have specific project responsibilities and daily activities assigned to them to experience the industry firsthand. Supervisors and project staff will structure work efforts to help students learn about their area of interest while contributing to project completion. Each co-op will be assigned a mentor for support. Upon completion of each summer term, Kokosing hosts the Co-op Capstone Event where co-ops present their learning and experiences, network with senior management, and participate in activities showcasing the construction and engineering industry.

Requirements

  • Students interested in a co-op experience for the Spring, Summer or Fall semesters.
  • Skilled team members who reflect core values and culture of safety.
  • Must be able to work with Full Time construction professionals.
  • Must be able to contribute directly to the completion of a quality project.
  • Must be able to present on the culmination of their learning and experiences during the term.
  • Must be able to work in one of the various roles within the industry.
  • Must be able to work in a laborer role as part of the construction crew (for field/trade experience).
