About The Position

The Global Supplier Quality Engineering team is responsible for driving Quality Engineering activities across Insulet’s component, service, and finished goods suppliers. The Co-op position will work closely with engineers on selection, qualification, and management of Insulet’s suppliers. This role closely works with manufacturers and service suppliers to ensure product / service quality meets Insulet requirements. It interfaces with other Insulet departments (e.g., Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Packaging and Regulatory Affairs) as well as with suppliers and other external parties on issues related to product quality. The role effectively communicates Quality metrics through supplier scorecards and Management Review to the organization, suppliers, and Executive Management. Insulet focuses on professional development of co-op students. Each co-op has a manager who works with them to achieve desired learning outcomes based on the preferences of the co-op.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate mechanical, industrial, or bio-engineering program.
  • 3.0 GPA or better
  • Mechanical aptitude / hands on mentality
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Data Analysis: JMP, Minitab, Excel
  • Good documentation skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support and/or lead Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to improve product & process design specifications.
  • Support and/or lead communication on design or process changes with suppliers via External Quality Action Requests (EQAR).
  • Support and/or lead continuous improvement projects to improve supplier quality processes.
  • Work hands-on with lab equipment (Optical Gage, Microscopes, Battery Testers, etc.) to aid Quality Inspections or Root Cause Analysis activities.
  • Improve internal processes (data analysis, workflow systems, etc.) by automating tasks and standardizing methods using applicable software skills (VBA, etc.).
  • Apply Six Sigma & Lean concepts.
  • Performs other duties as required.
