About The Position

Crowe MacKay is seeking Accounting Co-op Students for their Calgary office, offering valuable practical experience in the industry. The program is designed to provide essential elements for achieving a professional accounting designation, including high-quality practical experience, peer support, and day-to-day training. The firm is known for its top-tier training and mentorship, with a history of students exceeding national pass rates. This co-op opportunity is available from January to August 2027, with applications due by May 17th, 2026. Applicants are required to submit unofficial transcripts along with their resume and cover letter.

Requirements

  • A university or college student pursing (or completed) an undergraduate degree (preferably BCom or BBA) that aligns with CPA pre-requisites.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and client service skills.
  • Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn and able to prioritize workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  • A team player who encourages the success of all.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of various software programs, including Sage 50, CaseWare, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting documents.
  • Prepare corporate and personal income tax returns, including related filings and schedules.
  • Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of corporate year ends, which includes compilation, review, and audit engagements.
  • Meet deadlines as assigned by the partners or senior staff accountants.
  • Participate in education, training and professional development programs.
  • Be prepared to work hard and have fun.
  • Work independently and in a team environment under the direction of the leadership.
  • Completion of additional ad-hoc administrative duties or assignments as required.
