About The Position
This introductory position is for a vocational or technical high school student interested in carpentry and woodworking. The student will gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, learn from experienced team members, and be introduced to the carpentry trade in a working environment. No prior professional carpentry experience is required. Guidance and instruction will be provided as the student develops their skills.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a vocational or technical high school carpentry or related program.
- Eligible for a co-op placement through their school.
- Interested in carpentry, woodworking, and learning a skilled trade.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take direction.
- Able to follow safety procedures and work as part of a team.
- Willing to learn new skills and take on new tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic carpentry and woodworking tasks.
- Learn to use hand tools and power tools safely under supervision.
- Help measure, cut, assemble, and prepare materials as directed.
- Help keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced carpenters.
- Learn proper material handling techniques and shop procedures.
- Perform other related tasks as needed to support the team.
