About The Position

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is seeking one (1) motivated co-op student to join our Procurement team for an 8-month (8) term. Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, this role offers hands-on experience that will complement your academic studies while providing exposure to the full procurement lifecycle. The Procurement team is responsible for sourcing goods and services across the organization, ensuring value for money, transparency, and maintaining compliance with internal Procurement Policy and applicable government directives. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to procurement operations, vendor management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2nd or 3rd year in Business, Supply Chain, or a related program, registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in procurement, process improvement, or risk management is an asset
  • experience with automation is an asset
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assist with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement tracking
  • Support vendor onboarding and maintenance of supplier records
  • Monitor contract terms, renewals, and compliance requirements
  • Conduct supplier research and assist with RFS/RFP processes
  • Support procurement compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
  • Assist in strengthening the vendor performance management and risk management frameworks
  • Provide data and documentation support for internal audit activities, as needed
  • Assist in developing and updating procurement forms, tracking sheets and other related documents
  • Support process mapping and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement
  • Gather, analyze, and compile data into clear reports and dashboards
  • Create charts, graphs, and visualizations to communicate insights
  • Support the preparation of presentations for Executive Leadership, as needed
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Procurement team, as needed
