As a Quality Engineer Intern at GM would drive problem solving and resolutions based on data driven solutions to suppliers and internal customers. Your work would involve functioning as a technical liaison between production operations, engineering, suppliers, and supplier quality at a GM manufacturing plant.

Requirements

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology and Quality Engineering
• Must be graduating between December 2027 and June 2030
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week
• Must be willing to work in a plant environment
• Must be enrolled in a co-op program through Kettering University or Rochester Institute of Technology

• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience

• Excellent project management skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects at any given

Responsibilities

• Interact with production and engineering on part measurement results to part print specifications to assure quality and reliability
• Ensure effective containment and resolution to identified non-conforming product
• Communicate emerging issues for responsible components daily to Quality Systems Manager
• Coordinate repair, rework, and containment activities for identified spills
• Validate supplier scrap
• Work with Supplier Practical Problem Solving (SPPS) process on supplier related issues
• Support the PTR Process by running PTR's and evaluating impact on the product / function
• Support launch activities of new products
• Support the implementation and effective adherence to all elements within GMS
