Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Co-op post-secondary program focused on Business, Accounting, or Internal Audit, or have relevant experience for the position.
  • Knowledge of business risk and financial controls.
  • Knowledge of general accounting concepts, standards, and policies.
  • Solid written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, analytical skills, and proficiency in prioritization and critical thinking.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Must upload proof of co-op enrollment (e.g., a letter from your school or a screenshot from your student portal, Work Term Record/Transcript etc.).
  • Must upload a copy of your Transcript.
  • Will need to go through background screening, as per our company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying, analysing, and testing key company controls and processes to ensure the Company is compliant with IFRS, OSFI, CLHIA, and other regulations including the implementation of new accounting standard
  • Applying sound judgement to identify the root cause of deficiencies identified and assess their potential impact.
  • Applying sound judgement and business knowledge to develop and recommend process improvements that remediate risk.
  • Applying sound judgement to assess management remediation strategies and process improvements.
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with audit customers.
