About The Position

Baker Tilly Canada Capital (BTCC) is seeking two Analyst-Interns for 8-month terms, starting in September 2026 and January 2027. These roles will support both business development and deal execution within the corporate finance practice. BTCC specializes in creating value for clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raises, with a strong track record across various industries in Canada. The company emphasizes client service excellence, a fun work environment, and the career growth and development of its team members. The first four months of the internship will serve as a probationary period.

Requirements

  • Ambitious Accounting/Finance student
  • Relevant 3rd and 4th year coursework in accounting, corporate finance, marketing, and economics
  • Can-do attitude
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with teammates
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create presentations
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, such as in case competitions

Responsibilities

  • Generate cold prospects for new deals outside the Baker Tilly network.
  • Assist in organizing webinars and other public outreach opportunities.
  • Learn about the drivers of value in private businesses through preliminary valuations.
  • Conduct market research for industry reports and confidential information memorandums used in live deals.
  • Develop presentations, primarily focusing on industry research and data visualization.
  • Compile tailored lists of strategic and private equity investors for businesses going to market.
  • Assist in creating forecasts for income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in leveraged buyout transaction models.
  • Assist in creating pitches for raising debt capital.
  • Assist in creating Quality of Earnings (QoE) reports used by acquirers in their financial due diligence.
