About The Position

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. The Business Technology Support team is seeking a Co-op Student to support administrative and operational readiness activities, including document management, developing operational manuals, supporting functional testing of systems/applications, preparing test media, gathering and documenting business requirements from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a full-time accredited co-op program in order to be considered for this position.
  • Must be at least 15 years of age before starting employment
  • Enrolled Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or a similar program at a post-secondary institution
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Competence in software such as Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working within a business environment is an asset.
  • Oracle EBS functional experience would be an asset.
  • A willingness to learn while being exposed to all aspects of Hardware and Software Operations Support.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend improvements to existing processes and procedures to achieve greater efficiency.
  • Work with all partners to collect data, respond to queries and exchange information.
  • Supports the Finance Division in any day-to-day activity regarding Oracle EBS Finance functions in working with senior management and business unit stakeholders to implement and integrate highly complex enterprise resources planning and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare agendas, coordinate, attend and take minutes for daily technical/operational meetings.
  • Document new and modified business policies and procedures (e.g. standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows) to ensure effective implementation of technology solutions and processes.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to gather qualitative and quantitative data needed for solid decision-making.
  • Identify technology risks and potential impacts on business operations.
