About The Position

iGaming Ontario is an agency of the Government of Ontario responsible for conducting and managing the Province’s regulated internet gaming (iGaming) market. Established in July 2021, iGaming Ontario works with private gaming operators and government stakeholders to deliver a safe, sustainable, and healthy market that operates in the public interest. iGaming Ontario is excited to offer students valuable learning opportunities through our Student Program. If you are enrolled in a co-op program, a student position with iGaming Ontario will provide meaningful hands-on experience, professional development opportunities, and exposure to Ontario’s dynamic and evolving iGaming sector. The Board Relations team provides centralized governance support through the corporate secretary function and administration of freedom of information requests. It leads Board and committee administration, maintains governance policies, procedures, and records, and supports transparent, compliant decision-making. The department also manages the intake, tracking, and coordination of freedom of information requests to promote accountability, information stewardship, and consistent service delivery.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a university or college program related to law, public administration, political science, governance, or a similar field.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Co-op Student Status: Enrolled as a full-time post-secondary student in a co-operative education program at a recognized institution.
  • Work Status: Eligible to work in Canada.
  • All applications must include the following: Resume, Cover Letter, Copy of your most recent GPA transcript, Proof of enrollment for the September 2026 and/or 2027 school year.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day board governance and administrative activities.
  • Support the administration of freedom of information requests.
  • Conduct research and provide support for governance reviews and related initiatives.
  • Help refine freedom of information processes and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a board approvals tracker.
