The student will apply theories learned in a classroom setting to real-world, professional situations, observing and performing a diverse array of assigned tasks, activities, and projects under the guidance of professional mentors. The role requires adherence to all policies, procedures, and work regulations, and all assignments must be performed in a professional and businesslike manner. The student will practice the utilization of specialized instrumentation, equipment, software, and other technologies, while maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Periodic feedback on job performance will be sought and received. Participation in seminars or workshops designed to develop professional and scientific skills, including effective strategies for project design, time management, data analysis, and communication, is expected. The student may prepare and deliver formal written reports or oral presentations, and will attend and contribute to departmental and/or team meetings. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with team members and professionals in the designed field of work is also a key aspect of this role. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in an academic program that allows academic credit for working required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work environment and reports any concerns to supervisor and/or co-op facilitator.
  • Periodically seeks and receives feedback on job performance.
