About The Position

Davidson & Company is seeking a Co-op student to join our Private Enterprise & Tax practice for a four or eight-month period starting January 2027. In this role, you will develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax for privately held companies. You will prepare tax returns and compute taxes owing for corporate, personal, and other tax returns, applying knowledge of ASPE and related legislation. You will also develop and apply knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and corporate tax compliance. Throughout tax engagements, you will utilize various tools and software, collaborating with the engagement team to build strong relationships.

Requirements

Currently working towards completion of the prerequisites for admission into the CPA PEP with the intention to pursue the CPA designation are preferred
Previous accounting related office experience is considered an asset
Customer service and/or client service experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax for privately held companies in various industries.
Prepare tax returns and compute taxes owing for corporate, personal, and other tax returns, applying knowledge of ASPE and related legislation.
Develop and apply knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act and corporate tax compliance, preparing tax returns and computing taxes for various entities.
Utilize various tools and software throughout tax engagements, collaborating with the engagement team to build strong relationships.
