About The Position

BDO Canada’s Management Consulting Practice is a national advisory team that helps clients address complex business challenges and achieve meaningful transformation. Our Ottawa office is seeking a Co-op or Intern to join our growing Management Consulting team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of strategic and operational projects while working alongside experience professionals who are passionate about public service and innovation.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Commerce, Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in management consulting and public sector transformation.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Embrace ambiguity and complexity with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Have (or are eligible to obtain) a Government of Canada security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Interested in pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Prosci, Lean Six Sigma, CMC) is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high-quality consulting services in areas such as organizational and technology transformation, strategic and business planning, operational reviews, change management, and program/project management.
  • Conducting research, analysis, and synthesis of qualitative and quantitative data to generate actionable insights.
  • Developing client-ready presentations, reports, and other deliverables using MS Office and collaboration tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Supporting workshops, interviews, and working sessions with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Building relationships with clients and contributing to the development of practical, lasting solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across BDO, including Risk Advisory and Digital Consulting practices.
  • Contributing to business development efforts such as thought leadership, proposal development, and internal knowledge sharing.
