About The Position

This is a full-time, in-person role for a sophomore or junior student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, specifically Mechanical Engineering. The internship will take place in Corpus Christi, TX, from July 2026 to December 2026, requiring the student to take a semester off from classes. The role involves supporting various engineering and operational processes, including equipment surveys, inventory management, and product examination. The intern will also develop foundational knowledge in pump and mechanical seal fundamentals and collaborate with various engineering and sales teams.

Requirements

• BS in Engineering enrollment in good standing at an accredited university.
• Good communication skills and computer skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs a must.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities in a self-directed environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and develop good trouble shooting skills.
• Strong work ethic with positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel occasionally to support needs within the Gulf Coast Region.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to utilize measuring equipment (i.e.. dial calipers, micrometers, etc.) a plus

Responsibilities

• Support the equipment survey process and Flowstar.net program.
• Support inventory survey and consolidation efforts.
• Support daily advancements toward the agreed upon as set forth by the Engineering Manager.
• Examine failed products, providing both written and oral explanations to the responsible Flowserve personnel.
• Develop and acquire basic knowledge of pump and mechanical seal fundamentals to support Flowserve activities.
• Develop and maintain working relationship with Application Engineers, Sales Engineers, Regional Reliability Engineer, and Engineering Manager.
• Attend and support meetings as designated by management.
• Support key initiatives supporting the local Flowserve Quick Response Center.
