About The Position

SickKids Foundation, a leading charitable funder of child health research, learning, and care, is seeking a Co-op Student, Human Resources. This role is part of the People & Culture team and will assist in a broad range of Human Resources activities, providing excellent customer service. The student will support HR systems and processes, gain exposure to key HR areas, and lead a full-cycle recruitment process while assisting with the Annual Review Process. The foundation is committed to an inclusive culture and aims to attract and retain passionate individuals to help create a healthier future.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a University degree or Community College diploma in Human Resources Management or equivalent, which requires a co-op placement.
  • Intermediate/advanced competency with various Microsoft Office Suite products, including Excel and Word skills.
  • Ability to act with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Able to constantly re-prioritize work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • A collaborative mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Human Resources and/or administrative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment activities including preparing position profiles, posting jobs, creating advertisements, screening candidates, participating in interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Provide assistance during the annual performance review process, including compiling data.
  • Provide administrative support in the Human Resources Interface System (HRIS).
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, schedules, and other administrative tasks for the People & Culture team.
  • Ensure data integrity of all systems (Payroll, Benefits, and Human Resources Information systems); run reports and conduct audits as requested.
  • Support the team on a variety of projects, including best practice research and training support.
  • Champion, promote, develop, and encourage a positive health, safety, and wellness culture.
  • Perform additional office duties and projects as required.
