About The Position

The CNC VTL Machinist will be responsible for operating Vertical Lathe Machines, potentially running multiple machines simultaneously within manufacturing cells. This role requires the ability to work with challenging materials like Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel, and to interpret operation sheets and CNC programs. Proficiency in mathematics, Fanuc controls, and making offsets is essential. The machinist will also be responsible for loading parts and fixtures, including the operation of hoists, and must be familiar with Right-Angle Heads. A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and the ability to work within tight tolerances (thousandths) are critical. Other duties may be assigned by the Department Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

• 5+ years operating CNC Machinery in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with major aerospace OEMs (Pratt & Whitney, General Electric, Rolls Royce, etc..)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk up a few stairs on machine platforms to access machines
• Team player with the skills to work with people at all levels in a fast paced and demanding environment
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to read and interpret CNC Programs at the machine
• Able to read tool sheets and set up tools for use on a job or part
• Ability to use precision measuring tools such as gauges, swing gauges, calipers, and micrometers
• Must have Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing knowledge
• Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA

Responsibilities

• Read English and interpret symbols on operation sheets
• Be proficient in mathematics and be able to use a calculator
• Use Fanuc controls and make offsets as required by the program
• Load part onto a fixture
• Load parts and fixtures onto hoists and operate hoist to load part onto machine
• Operate Right-Angle Heads
• Work within tight tolerances such as thousandths
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Manager
