About The Position

A custom manufacturing company in New Castle, Delaware, is seeking a hands-on Lead Fabricator to head its CNC Department. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC vertical mills, including Haas VF-10, VF-4, VF-3, and Fadal machines, as well as fabricating custom steel, aluminum, and wood products. The position is full time and day shift, with an attractive salary and benefits package. Some overtime is required.

Requirements

Trade school graduate or equivalent.
At least 5 years of programming experience with CNC vertical machining centers.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mastercam.
Strong knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment.
Ability to accurately read a tape measure and blueprints and translate them into fabricated products using fractions and decimal places.
Reliable transportation.
Sufficient strength and physical ability.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of wood and Plexiglas.
Experience with laminates and veneers.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate CNC vertical mills to produce standard and custom parts.
Set up and break down machining centers, and schedule preventive maintenance and cleaning.
Troubleshoot machines.
Create machining-center schedules based on the production schedule.
Train and oversee machine operators.
Work with steel and aluminum.
Operate other shop equipment, including manual mills, press brakes, saws, lathes, and drills.
Draw, read, and interpret prints, plans, sketches, and shop drawings.
Work with designers and management to achieve customer satisfaction.
Maintain high production levels while ensuring quality.
Respond to quick-turnaround orders.
Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Maintain clean equipment and work areas.
Perform related duties as assigned.
