About The Position

Operators use computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. CNC Operators must be responsible and comply with all safety guidelines. A keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude are essential. The goal is to produce high quality parts and materials by programming machines to perform the right operations.

Requirements

  • Mechanical inclination and basic knowledge of manufacturing
  • Intermediate math skills (understanding x, y, and z coordinates, ability to convert fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience as a machine operator strongly preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • technical degree or certification in machining or CNC programming preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare to load and unload raw materials and parts onto the machines.
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
  • Responsible for the quality of the products produced by the manufacturing cell to which they are assigned to. This may include visual inspection of the parts or measuring of characteristics using hand gages.
  • Verify conformance of machined and/or assembled parts to specifications using handgages and/or CMM reports.
  • Conduct SPC checks as indicated in corresponding Control Plan and/or other Work Instructions assigned to the job, this may include visual inspection of parts.
  • Understand purge and contain for quality related issues.
  • Upkeep of work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned and as necessary.
