Oversee the manufacturing of metal parts according with work instructions and best practices. This role is for the 3rd shift, which runs from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday. The technician will be responsible for production and quality output for a specified area, performing adjustments to machine settings, tools, and times, and analyzing part measurements to determine necessary adjustments. The role requires reading blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts, reviewing measurement reports, and understanding how to use precision measurement equipment like micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. Responsibilities also include performing re-works, understanding G&M code functions, fixturing, and work-holding principles, and troubleshooting various machine, tooling, and programming errors. The technician must ensure documentation is correct, perform booking operations accurately, and use hand tools for de-burring parts. Visual inspections are crucial for early issue identification, and the technician will train operators on SOPs and visual inspection details. This role involves supporting production plans, communicating potential issues to supervisors and other technicians, and supporting Lean Manufacturing activities. Additionally, the technician will lead a team of Machine Operators in their assigned area regarding technical and operational topics.
