About The Position

Heartline Staffing is recruiting a CNC Swiss Screw Setup Machinist for an onsite precision-manufacturing opportunity in El Cajon, California. This position requires substantial CNC machining experience with hands-on responsibility for both setup and operation of Swiss-style CNC machines used to manufacture small, high-precision components. The machinist will independently manage setups, troubleshoot machining issues, perform first-article inspections and make real-time adjustments to maintain consistent part quality. This role works closely with programmers, engineers and quality personnel while supporting repeatable, efficient production processes.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED REQUIRED
  • 5-7 years of CNC machining experience REQUIRED
  • At least 3 years operating and setting up Swiss-style CNC machines REQUIRED
  • Strong experience with Citizen, Nakamura, Star or Tsugami machines REQUIRED
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T REQUIRED
  • Deep understanding of CNC controls, tooling and machining principles REQUIRED
  • Skill using precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques REQUIRED
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and process control REQUIRED
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of setup and production outcomes REQUIRED
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset REQUIRED
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts or overtime as needed REQUIRED
  • Local candidate able to work onsite in El Cajon, CA REQUIRED
  • Stable work history REQUIRED

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Swiss-style CNC machines
  • Manufacture small, high-precision components
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures and machine offsets
  • Independently troubleshoot setup and machining issues
  • Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Document setup procedures and best practices for repeatability and training
  • Interpret blueprints, CAD models and setup sheets
  • Apply GD&T to machining and inspection activities
  • Perform first-article inspections
  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Use precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
  • Apply knowledge of CNC controls, tooling and machining principles
  • Support tooling and fixture selection for production jobs
  • Maintain control of setup and production outcomes
  • Perform routine machine maintenance
  • Proactively report mechanical issues
