About The Position

Frederick’s Manufacturing LLC, now part of the CCI Group of Companies, is seeking a CNC Subsea Machinist. This role is responsible for the precision machining of critical subsea components used in offshore and subsea applications. The position demands advanced machining expertise, strict adherence to quality and safety standards, and the ability to work with complex materials and tight tolerances. The CNC Subsea Machinist is crucial in ensuring components meet stringent industry, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent experience
  • Several years of experience as a CNC Machinist, ideally in oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Strong ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Proven experience machining tight‑tolerance, safety‑critical components
  • Proficient use of precision measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyperson or Red Seal Machinist certification (Canada) or equivalent
  • Experience with subsea or pressure‑containing components
  • Experience with advanced CNC equipment (multi‑axis, live tooling, sub‑spindles)
  • Familiarity with industry quality standards such as ISO, API, or customer‑specific subsea requirements
  • Experience machining corrosion‑resistant and exotic alloys

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machinery (mills, lathes, and/or multi‑axis machines) used in the manufacture of subsea components
  • Machine complex, high‑precision parts in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality plans
  • Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and inspection requirements
  • Select tooling, establish feeds and speeds, and optimize machining processes for subsea materials (e.g., stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, Inconel, titanium)
  • Load, verify, and adjust CNC programs; perform authorized edits as required
  • Conduct first‑article, in‑process, and final inspections using advanced precision measuring and inspection equipment
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining and process issues to prevent non‑conforming product
  • Maintain traceability documentation, inspection records, and production data as required for subsea and customer standards
  • Ensure all work complies with company quality management systems and subsea industry requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with occupational health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to strict safety, environmental, and quality requirements inherent in subsea manufacturing
