About The Position
Fluidstack is seeking a CNC / Structural Steel Processing Engineer to own CNC and structural steel processing operations, including beam lines, plate processing, saws, and drills. The role involves programming and optimizing machines for efficiency, commissioning new equipment, and developing tooling and preventive maintenance strategies to ensure high uptime. This position is crucial for scaling up steel processing operations to support the company's mission of delivering large-scale compute infrastructure for AI.
Requirements
- Engineered CNC or steel processing operations in a structural or heavy fabrication environment.
- Programmed beam lines or plate processing equipment.
- Nesting for material yield and understanding the value of a point of yield.
- Owned equipment uptime and driven it with data.
- Experience working collaboratively with operators on the floor.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Peddinghaus, Ficep, or Voortman platforms.
- Experience with CAM systems.
- Experience with Tekla interface.
- In-depth knowledge of cutting and drilling processes.
Responsibilities
- Own CNC and structural steel processing: beam lines, plate processing, saws, and drills running at takt.
- Program and optimize the machines: nesting, tooling, and cycle times that feed downstream without piles.
- Commission new steel processing equipment and prove it to rate.
- Own the tooling and preventive maintenance strategy so uptime holds through the ramp.
