About The Position

The CNC Sheet Metal Programmer (Salvagnini Systems) is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous optimization of CNC programs supporting automated sheet metal fabrication processes, including punch/laser operations and panel bending systems. This role plays a critical part in maximizing material utilization, improving production efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output through effective programming and process control.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in CNC programming within a sheet metal fabrication environment, preferably involving Salvagnini systems.
  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM platforms such as RADAN and Salvagnini STREAM modules, including Stream Bend, Stream Punch, Stream Laser, and Stream Former.
  • Minimum 1yr experience in CNC programming or machine operation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, tape measures), and apply a solid understanding of sheet metal properties and fabrication processes.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine complex CNC programs for punching and bending operations, ensuring optimal nesting strategies to maximize material yield and minimize waste using Salvagnini STREAM technologies.
  • Configure and support Salvagnini systems for efficient production runs, including the preparation of press brake setup instructions where applicable.
  • Analyze production performance, monitor scrap rates, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Diagnose and resolve programming or equipment-related issues to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) efforts and contribute to the training and development of programming personnel.
