The CNC Setup Technician is responsible for setting up and adjusting machine tools on CNC equipment. This includes basic part inspection using hard gauges and measurement tools, routine 6S, part quality inspection using a CMM, changing broken/worn tools, performing minor preventive maintenance, following setup instructions to switch between jobs, interpreting CMM reports, making CNC program offsets for shift/drift or tool length/wear compensation, and making CNC program changes. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can serve as the supervisor's right-hand partner on the shop floor while providing leadership, supporting production flow, and driving accountability within the department. The successful candidate will set the standard for attendance, safety, quality, and work ethic while helping remove production barriers, improve communication, support employee development, and promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement. This role requires flexibility and a team-first mindset. While the position includes setup, coordination, and leadership responsibilities, the candidate is expected to seamlessly transition into an operator role whenever those duties are not required. The successful candidate will lead by example, remain actively engaged in daily production, and contribute wherever needed to support the team, meet customer demands, and ensure departmental success. Candidate will perform all other duties as assigned.
