About The Position

As a CNC Setup Operator – 2nd Shift, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and preparing CNC lathes and milling machines for production. You will perform machine changeovers, install tooling and fixtures, verify offsets, and support operators to ensure consistent and accurate part production. This onsite position reports to the Production Supervisor and involves collaboration with fellow setup staff, operators, and the quality team. 2nd Shift Hours - 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm with overtime as business needs

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience setting up CNC lathes and / or CNC milling machines
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges and other precision tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
Basic math skills
Knowledge of safety standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

Set up CNC lathes, mills, and related equipment based on blueprints, job specifications, and setup sheets.
Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, collets, and work-holding devices.
Set and verify work offsets, tool offsets, and machine parameters.
Perform first-piece inspections in coordination with Quality Assurance.
Troubleshoot issues related to tooling wear, fixtures, offsets, and machine operation.
Support CNC operators with machine adjustments and quality checks.
Ensure machines run consistently following setup completion.
Document setup information, quality checks, and production notes.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
