CNC Setup Operator I, First Shift

About The Position

The CNC Setup Operator I is responsible for operating 3-axis CNC routers, plate mills, and roll-forming equipment, as well as performing precision blending and deburring with power or hand tools. The role includes carrying out standard lift operations or assisting with critical lift operations, and completing in-process inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and pin gauges. The operator is expected to uphold Relativity Space’s standards for safety and shop cleanliness and foster an inclusive team environment. The position is part of the Stage Manufacturing team, which builds Terran R’s primary structures and works collaboratively across engineering and technician teams to improve manufacturing processes and production at scale.

Requirements

Experience with metal fabrication techniques such as bending and rolling.
Experience with machining equipment such as mills and lathes.
Proficiency using common hand tools and inspection tools.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office or team communication tools such as Slack or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Experience with rigging and crane operations.
Experience with welding operations.
Experience with CNC, robotics, and/or machine programming.
Experience reading drawings and/or GD&T.
