About The Position

This role is designed for skilled machinists who know how to take ownership of a machine, dial in setups, solve issues, and keep production moving. As our CNC Setup Machinist, you’ll be responsible for safely setting up and operating advanced CNC machines and manufacturing cells in a fast-paced production environment. You’ll work closely with operators, programmers, leads, and production management to ensure setups are accurate, machines run efficiently, and quality standards are consistently met.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent job experience
  • Minimum 3 years of CNC setup machinist experience
  • Strong experience setting up 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing documentation
  • Experience with setup sheets, offsets, probes, and tool setters
  • Strong understanding of G & M codes
  • Ability to perform minor machine-side program edits
  • Strong troubleshooting and tooling optimization capabilities
  • Strong mathematical and inspection skills
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment including calipers, gauges, indicators, pins, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Ability to thrive in a very fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machines including Robo Drill, HAAS, and Doosan platforms
  • Perform setups on advanced 3- and 4-axis CNC milling machines
  • Utilize Fanuc controls and perform minor machine-side program edits
  • Operate and support manufacturing cells in a high-volume environment
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, setup sheets, and manufacturing documentation
  • Perform setups using probes and tool setters
  • Verify parts meet tolerance and quality standards
  • Document setups and support process standardization
  • Coordinate production priorities to support manufacturing timelines
  • Maintain accurate job tracking and production records within Epicor ERP (preferred)
  • Accurately complete travelers, including part counts and revision verification
  • Troubleshoot tooling, machine, and setup issues quickly and effectively
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Communicate effectively across departments to support workflow and production requirements
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
