About The Position

The CNC Setup Machinist prepares, programs, and operates computer numerically controlled machinery to produce high-quality parts and materials. The role requires safe and accurate operation of CNC machines, concentration and precision, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and compliance with safety guidelines. The position is on the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., in the Olive Branch, Mississippi area.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, including at least 3 years of setup experience.
At least 5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling, as well as precision measurement tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
Basic computer skills and understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM.
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.
Attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
Good communication abilities.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully completed apprenticeship.

Nice To Haves

Certificate or diploma in engineering or a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

Prepare, program, and operate CNC machines for tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand task specifications and desired results.
Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operations.
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines.
Run tests to verify that machine outputs meet specifications.
Set machines to complete full cycles for fabricating large numbers of parts.
Supervise machines during operation and make adjustments as needed to improve results.
Inspect and measure finished products against requirements.
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
