CNC Set Up Machinist - 2nd & 3rd Shift

Weldall Manufacturing•Waukesha, WI

About The Position

Weldall Manufacturing is hiring experienced CNC Set-Up Machinists to machine heavy weldments in a low-volume, high-mix job shop environment. This is a hands-on role requiring independent setup, machining, and troubleshooting on open-table Vertical Machining Centers, Horizontal Machining Centers, and Horizontal Boring Mills. The position goes beyond machine operation: machinists review shop packets and blueprints, plan and perform setups, select tooling and workholding, establish work offsets, prove out programs, inspect finished work, and troubleshoot machining and quality issues. Machinists use probes, tool setters, indicators, edge finders, inspection equipment, Fanuc and/or HEIDENHAIN controls, and G and M codes to produce parts to specification. They optimize speeds, feeds, and tooling, follow safety practices, and maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment. The role is listed for second- and third-shift work.

  • At least 5 years of CNC machining experience in a job shop or custom manufacturing environment.
  • Experience independently setting up CNC machining centers, including VMCs, HMCs, and/or Horizontal Boring Mills.
