About The Position

The CNC Router Operator will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating the CNC router. This role emphasizes promoting safe practices while operating the router to achieve an exceptional cut of material. Essential duties include reading blueprints and/or job orders for product specifications, determining the sequence of operations, selecting and securing tools, positioning and securing workpiece holding devices, setting specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut, and observing machine operation to verify conformance of machined work pieces to specifications.

Requirements

Proficiency with producing parts using CNC machinery
Proficiency in using standard fabrication and warehouse equipment
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years’ experience in a fabrication/production role

Responsibilities

Produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating the CNC router
Promote safe practices while operating router to appropriately achieve an exceptional cut of material
Read blueprint and/or job order for product specifications including dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speed, depth of cut
Determine sequence of operations
Select, position, and secure tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post)
Position and secure workpiece holding devices, machine tables, chuck, centers, or fixtures
Ability to use equipment to position tools and work pieces in relation to each other
Set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut
Observe operation of machine and verify conformance of machined work piece to specifications
