About The Position

The CNC Programmer will work from solid models and technical drawings to create programs used on Complex Bar-Fed 5-Axis Milling Machines, Swiss Turning Machines, and Conventional 5-Axis milling machines.

Requirements

  • Technical training in precision machining , degree in Engineering OR related field OR equivalent work experience in machine programming
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in CNC machining / manufacturing
  • Proficient in GibbsCAM, Mastercam or a similar CAM software. Knowledge of G-code for multi-axis CNC machining.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, and machine control systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of quality instruments and how to use them
  • Experience with business side of operation (quoting, customer relations, production planning, etc.)
  • Self-Starter / Self-Motivated / Flexible / Detail-Oriented.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Positive internal and customer focused attitude.
  • Must enjoy fast pace and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize and execute.
  • Champion projects to ensure meeting customer delivery.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CNC Programs and manufacturing processes for new and legacy 5 axis, mill-turn, and/or Swiss lathe parts
  • Program parts and fixtures using CAM software using Gibbs CAM
  • Optimize feeds, speeds, and processes for maximum efficiency.
  • Design fixtures and custom cutting tools.
  • Use machine simulation software to ensure collision free code
  • Aid in quoting new work, including design for manufacturability feedback to customers
  • Set up and run CNC mills and lathes as needed to support new product introduction and continuous improvement efforts
  • Mentor and teach machinists new skills
  • Collaborate with machinists to resolve programming and machine issues.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas on new and legacy parts.
