About The Position

AeroTEC's Manufacturing Center provides operational and facility requirements to support Fabrication, Quality, Instrumentation Installation & removal, and site safety (EH&S/SMS). The AeroTEC Manufacturing Center is responsible for providing resources and facilities for fabrication, quality, manufacturing, instrumentation installation and equipment to support customer requirements. The 5 Axis CNC Programmer is responsible for programming, set-up and operation of CNC milling machines to produce parts. In addition, this position assembles aircraft parts, fabricates parts for warehouse projects, and researches and completes purchase requisitions for projects and designs products using CAD software.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ten (10) + years of CNC Programming (milling; 3,4 and 5 axis).
  • Three (3) years of CNC Programming using NX (milling; 3,4 and 5 axis).
  • Must have the ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create efficient machining strategies.
  • Maintain accuracy in programming for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Create detailed setup sheets and documentation to guide machine operators.
  • Assist with machine setup and operation during peak production times or complex jobs.
  • Conduct test runs to ensure accuracy and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Estimate programming times, machine times, and materials needed to complete projects efficiently.
  • Develop Basic work plans to align with project timelines and production demands.
  • Serve as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing to ensure seamless communication and alignment on technical requirements.
  • Assist engineering in creating models, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling needed for production.
  • Provide insights and feedback on part manufacturability, tooling needs, and process improvements.
  • Analyze current machining processes to identify areas for efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Recommend and implement updates to programming and machining techniques as needed.
