About The Position

The Tooling Center Programmer provides innovative and quality driven expertise in the production of foundry tooling, including patterns, core boxes, related components, and molds for injection molding machines. The role involves programming CNC machines, operating CNC machine tools, and ensuring precision and quality in the production of high-quality products. Additionally, the position requires continuous education and training of other team members.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
5 years of advanced manufacturing experience
3 years of verifiable CAM experience
Strong programming skills
Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings
CAD/CAM software experience
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of various materials
Strong mathematical aptitude (Trigonometry and Geometry)

Mastercam experience
Solidworks CSWA experience
Multi-Axis Machine experience
Metallurgy experience
Foundry Tooling experience
Associate's degree and/or certification with emphasis in CNC machining, precision machining or manufacturing technology

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers and the CAD technician to enhance tooling designs.
Utilize Mastercam software to generate G-code programs.
Design work holding fixtures and/or select and use purchased work holding devices.
Create and maintain an accurate tool library database for the department.
Choose appropriate tooling and calculate optimal speeds and feeds to ensure maximum productivity and high-quality products.
Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings.
Set up and calibrate CNC machines.
Operate CNC machine tools to produce high-quality products.
Oversee machining processes to ensure precision, quality, and compliance with specifications.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety guidelines.
Continuously pursue knowledge in CAD/CAM processes, tooling, and work holding technology.
Stay updated on technological advancements and proactively identify opportunities for improvement both within the organization and professionally by exploring new technologies, processes, and tooling.
Mentor and develop the Tooling Center Machinist’s skills to advance their knowledge and understanding of the Tooling Center processes, and requirements.
