About The Position

This position involves performing CNC machine setup and operation, as well as programming, to meet B&B Manufacturing Inc.'s requirements for accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness in part production. The role requires the ability to operate multiple machines, perform measurement validation, ensure overall equipment operation and area housekeeping, and assist in meeting daily customer production requirements. The CNC Programmer will be the primary source for operating CNC machines, processing, and executing all departmental and B&B procedures. This includes reading machining instructions and interpreting blueprints to ensure efficient running of components according to engineered drawing requirements. The programmer will also identify, obtain, or recommend tools and fixtures needed for current projects, clamp workpieces, position and secure gaging for validation, and maintain set feed rates and rotation speeds. Verification of milled parts to specifications using various measurement devices is crucial, with the responsibility to identify flaws and inform supervisors or set-up technicians. The role requires computing dimensions and applying shop mathematics for consistent accuracy, and machining plastic or other non-metallic materials. Experience with custom or production work, various materials, and specific machine types like Mazak Lathe is expected. Adherence to the B&B Quality Policy is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Read, write, and comprehend English language.
  • Proficient in general CNC operations.
  • Proficient with FANUC controls to program machine in G and M codes.
  • Expeditious setup of machines to run parts at high production speeds.
  • Knowledgeable in current indexable tooling technology.
  • Reading and understanding blueprints and machine operation.
  • Ability to operate multiple CNC machines.
  • Measure and record all required data and dimensions.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines or communicate those that cannot be met.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of boring tools, gauges, inspection fixtures, and CNC Milling machines.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of FANUC controls and G and M code for programming.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry to generate correct finished dimensions.
  • Skills in monitoring performance, watching gauges, using logic and reasoning, conducting tests and inspections, controlling operations of equipment, identifying complex problems, and implementing solutions.
  • Good listening, problem sensitivity, quick response reaching time, arm-hand steadiness and rate control.
  • Observing, receiving, and entering accurate information in B&B ERP system.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Effectively provide information to supervisors and co-workers.
  • Follow all safety procedures and policies as mandated by B&B.
  • Ability to stand on hard surface for the entire work shift.
  • Frequent walking.
