About The Position

Since 1965, Viking Cue has been crafting legendary, American-made pool cues known for precision, quality, and performance. As we continue to grow and evolve our manufacturing capabilities, we’re looking for a CNC Programmer to join our team in Middleton, WI. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational CNC machining and programming experience who enjoys solving problems, working hands-on, and continuing to build their technical skills.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a prototype, job shop, or production environment
  • CNC programming experience using CAM software
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, setup, tooling, workholding, and machine operation
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Ability to work on-site in Middleton, WI

Nice To Haves

  • CNC machining and machine setup
  • CAM programming, including Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, or similar software
  • Reading engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Editing or troubleshooting CNC programs and G-code
  • Tooling, workholding, and machining strategies
  • HAAS CNC machines
  • Miltronics or Centroid controls
  • 4-axis or 5-axis machining
  • Can work independently while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing
  • Is adaptable and comfortable shifting priorities when needed
  • Has strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Works efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Is interested in learning, cross-training, and expanding their skill set

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining strategies
  • Perform first-article inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability
  • Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability, tooling, and machining processes
  • Support prototype, custom, and low-volume machining projects
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area
