About The Position

AeroTEC is seeking a CNC Programmer for a contractor/consultant role. This position is responsible for programming, set-up, and operation of CNC milling machines to produce parts. The role also involves assembling aircraft parts, fabricating parts for warehouse projects, researching and completing purchase requisitions, and designing products using CAD software. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless communication and alignment on technical requirements, provide insights on manufacturability, and analyze current machining processes for improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ten (10) + years of CNC Programming (milling; 3,4 and 5 axis).
  • Three (3) years of CNC Programming using NX (milling; 3,4 and 5 axis).
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee).

Responsibilities

  • Programming, set-up and operation of CNC milling machines to produce parts.
  • Assembling aircraft parts.
  • Fabricating parts for warehouse projects.
  • Researching and completing purchase requisitions for projects.
  • Designing products using CAD software.
  • Analyzing technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to create efficient machining strategies.
  • Maintaining accuracy in programming for quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Creating detailed setup sheets and documentation to guide machine operators.
  • Assisting with machine setup and operation during peak production times or complex jobs.
  • Conducting test runs to ensure accuracy and troubleshooting issues.
  • Estimating programming times, machine times, and materials needed.
  • Developing basic work plans to align with project timelines and production demands.
  • Serving as a liaison between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Assisting engineering in creating models, assemblies, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Providing insights and feedback on part manufacturability, tooling needs, and process improvements.
  • Analyzing current machining processes to identify areas for efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Recommending and implementing updates to programming and machining techniques.
